About Us

The Cosmetic Formulary is a cosmetic formulation house. We develop the chemistry, prove it, and hand it to you.

We started because the same thing kept happening. A founder with a genuinely good idea would come out of a lab somewhere holding a sample they loved and a formula they did not own, and then spend two years and most of their money discovering that nobody in the supply chain was on their side.

Contract manufacturers sell capacity. They are good at running large volumes of things that already work. They are not built to develop your product, they are not incentivized to tell you your claim is a regulatory problem, and they will not hand you a formula you can take somewhere else.

So we built the other half. We formulate. We test. We give you the formula outright. And then we walk you into a manufacturer and stay in the room while your product goes into production.

What we actually do

Three things, in order.

We formulate. Bench chemistry from scratch, in our own lab, against your brief. Not a stock base with a new scent.

We sell you the formula. Outright. It is yours, with the batch record, the process, and the test data behind it. No hostage situation, no per unit royalty on your own product.

We navigate the build. We match you to the manufacturer that fits your chemistry and your volume, transfer the formula, and review the first production run against our own data. The navigation is not a service we bolt on. It is the reason the first two are worth anything.

What we do not do

We do not manufacture your production runs. We say that plainly because the industry is full of people who blur it. Knowing where our work stops is what lets us tell you the truth about the manufacturer you are about to sign with.

Where we are

New Mexico. Our lab handles formulation, stability and compatibility work in house, and we source packaging and raw materials for the brands we work with.
